How to define an osteoporotic vertebral fracture?
Abstract
Vertebral fractures (VFs) are the hallmark of osteoporosis. They are the most common of all osteoporotic fractures, occurring in 15% among women 50–59 yrs of age and in 50% among women >85 yr of age (1-4). The majority of osteoporotic VFs are asymptomatic and occur in absence of specific trauma (5,6).
