This special issue is the first part dedicated to the topic “Parallel and sparse MR imaging: methods and instrument”. It is organized by Dr. Xiaoliang Zhang from the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, University of California San Francisco, and Dr. Jim Ji from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University.
It focuses on technical developments of hardware and algorithm for parallel imaging and sparse MR, and their biomedical applications. It includes eight articles from top MR research and development groups, covering overarching and frontier topics on various aspects in current parallel imaging and sparse MR based fast imaging and its applications.
These special issues will be presented in the 2014 Joint Annual Meeting of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB) from May 10 to 16 in Milan.
